What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems regulated by ISO.
More precisely, ISO 14001 is a management system that requires the organisation's contribution in the form of continuous removal or reduction of environmental threats faced by the organisation, by systematically identifying, assessing, controlling and improving environmental aspects that arise during the organisation management.
The requirements for the global environmental management system have expanded to all areas of industry, and in some of them the environmental management system is a compulsory factor that enables the implementation of business objectives.
The standard may be applied in all organisations of any industries, regardless of size, as well as ISO 9001 (QMS).
ISO 14001 can improve the entire range of environmental management systems by considering, controlling and checking the environmental impact on the organisation, in accordance with the Plan-Do-Check-Act, which is the basis of the management system concept.
